Along with many other causes, Bâloise is a partner of the Relais pour la Vie. This teamwork event is organized by the Luxembourg Cancer Foundation which we have been actively supporting for over 10 years. It plays a major role in the Luxembourg social fabric by fulfilling fundamental purposes such as “the prevention and support to diminishing the number of cancer cases and deaths and to help all people concerned, by improving their quality of life”. It also supports research by funding numerous projects.

Each year the Relais pour la Vie brings together over 13,000 people. For 24 hours, the team members take turns walking to display their ongoing solidarity towards patients suffering from, or surviving a cancer. Patients have to endure the hardships day and night with no respite and these 24 hours are symbolic to illustrate this perpetual combat.

Bâloise is deeply attached to this partnership with the Cancer Foundation and it is highly important for us to support this event as it’s one of the collective-action highlights in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Unfortunately, due to the present sanitary crisis, the 2020 edition had to be cancelled. Due to the evident health risks, it was impossible to maintain this major event.

The situation we are currently experiencing should change nothing towards the support which the Cancer Foundation expects from each of us. This is why we have maintained our engagements for this year and we also want to stipulate our importance of also being present for the Relais pour la Vie in 2021.

These past months have allowed all of us to make sure our health is not only a necessary concern but also a priority. It is paramount that entities such as the Cancer Foundation continue operating as best as possible for people suffering from this disease. For this reason, we encourage you to make a donation to the Foundation which depends nearly entirely on our individual generosity.
